West Ham are planning a move to sign Anthony Martial or Marcus Rashford on loan from Manchester United in January, according to reports.

The Daily Telegraph claims that the Hammers are ready to guarantee both players a starting role, while Rashford would be played as a central striker instead of a wide role he has been given by Jose Mourinho this season.

Rashford has started eight Premier League games this season but Mourinho has already warned that the 19-year-old is not ready to feature in every game for United.

Martial, meanwhile, has started seven games in the Premier League but Mourinho recently claimed that the France international, who was signed for £61 million from Monaco, has improved his attitude.

West Ham are also keen on Chelsea’s Michy Batshuayi and Liverpool’s Daniel Sturridge, although neither players are expected to leave their clubs in the upcoming window.

Slaven Bilic’s side are in the market for players who are already featuring in the Premier League, but Sassuolo forward Gregoire Defrel and Porto’s Laurent Depoitre are also on their radar.
