It was earlier reported that Mr. Eazi claimed to have earned $6000 monthly as an Engineer at Schlumberger, before quitting the job to pursue a career as an artiste. The information was later falsified with the revelation that the singer only interned with the company, and never worked as a full-time Engineer with the international company. The singer has now come out to confirm that he only interned with Schlumberger Company. Speaking on the $6,000 job he allegedly turned down for music, in a chat with Sunday Scoop, Mr Eazi said: “I turned down the job; I didn’t say I had started working there. I don’t think there is anything wrong with being an intern. I don’t have anything to gain by lying about such a thing. The truth remains that I was offered a job by Schlumberger, but I decided not to take it, but rather concentrated on my career. And that is a decision I’ve never regretted till date.”

Fans of newly promoted English Premier League club, Newcastle United have started an online petition for the club to retire the jersey number 24 worn by former player, Chiek Tiote who died on Monday during a training session in China. Audu Maikori, a Nigerian lawyer and CEO of Chocolate City Entertainment, has been arrested by the police. The arrest is linked to his tweets about a fatal attack on his relatives in Southern Kaduna that turned out to be false, his lawyer said Friday. Mark Jacobs told PREMIUM TIMES that Mr. Maikori, 41, was arrested in Lagos around noon Friday by a team of police officers attached to inspector-general monitoring and intelligence team and was immediately transferred to the Force Headquarters in Abuja. “I arrived at the Force Headquarters and learnt that a detention order has already been signed for him,” Mr. Jacobs said of his client. “I am not sure he will be released tonight.” Mr. Jacobs said he was told by the police that a magistrate issued warrant for Mr. Maikori’s arrest and are planning to charged him with attempt to “incite” the public.
