Stacey Dash's Response to #OscarsSoWhite Protests: Get Rid of BET

Stacey Dash has an idea about how to make Hollywood more integrated - get rid of BET, the BET Awards or any other ceremony "where you only get awarded if you're black."

The actress-turned-political-commentator delivered her opinion on the recent #OscarsSoWhite controversy on Fox News' Fox and Friends Wednesday. Dash believes the problem isn't just with the Oscars , but with any program that excludes people because of race - including BET and the NAACP Image Awards. "We can either have integration or segregation. If we don't want segregation then we need to get rid of channels like BET and the BET awards and the Image Awards," she said. "If it were the other way around we would be up in arms. It's a double standard."

It's a double standard that Dash herself has cashed in on. BET responded to Dash's comments with a screenshot of her appearing on the network's The Game and a heavy dose of shade. "Soooooo @REALStaceyDash can we get our check back... or nah?" tweeted the BET official account.

Hypocrisy aside, Dash's integration plan didn't stop at awards shows and channels. She also thinks that Black History Month is a segregating venture rather than its intended purpose of celebrating historical figures of color otherwise overlooked by traditional history curriculums. "There shouldn't be a Black History Month. We're Americans. That's it, period," she said

Dash did make one valid point -- that there aren't enough quality roles in Hollywood for people of color, and it should have been an issue long before now. "There are not very many roles for people of color. How can that be and why is it just now being addressed?" she posed, after a dig at President Obama and his "Hollywood elite" friends, of course.

Do you think that Dash has a point or she's way out of touch?
