Belgium striker Romelu Lukaku to be offered new Everton deal - sources

Everton are preparing to offer Romelu Lukaku a new contract in a bid to keep the striker at Goodison Park, sources close to the club have told ESPN FC.

Lukaku, 23, has suggested he is considering leaving Everton this summer as he wants to move to a higher-profile club to be playing in the Champions League so he can continue his progression.

The Belgium international's desire to possibly move on has alerted a host of Europe's top clubs with the likes of Paris Saint Germain and Juventus both keen on the Belgian international.

Sources revealed that Chelsea were keen in bringing him back  to the Bridge and that the player was open to the idea of returning to West London.

Romelu Lukaku is currently with the Belgium squad at Euro 2016, where he failed to score in their opening match.

Lukaku left Chelsea after three years mostly spent out on loan at West Bromwich Albion and Everton before joining the Toffees for £28 million in 2014.

He has impressed at Goodison Park, scoring 61 goals in 127 games for the club and new boss Ronald Koeman is desperate to keep hold of his star players after joining the club from Southampton earlier this week.

Everton's hierarchy have vowed to Koeman that they will do everything they can to keep hold of their prize assets despite interest from other clubs.

Koeman has been handed a hefty transfer budget to try and improve his squad and some of that will go towards lucrative new deals for players already at the club.

Lukaku, who is under contract until 2019, is set to be offered fresh terms before preseason as the club look to ward off suitors for the former Anderlecht player and show that they can match the player's ambition under Koeman next season.
