Hiddink: I’m going for manager’s role at Chelsea

It has been confirmed Dutchman Guus Hiddink will be appointed the next Chelsea interim manager to succeed Jose Mourinho momentarily according to a close ally.

The 69-year-old former Netherlands coach will return to Stamford Bridge for the second time as a caretaker manager following his previous spell in the 2008/2009 season when he won the FA Cup.

Though no official confirmation from Chelsea yet but the deal has been signed and sealed according to former Blues striker Mateja Kezman who has been quoted on the website of Croatian newspaper Index saying Hiddink has informed him about the appointment.

“I do not know if it is officially confirmed, whether the club has announced it, but Guus told me earlier,” Kezman, who scored just seven goals for Chelsea during Mourinho’s first stint at the west London club said.

“I am convinced that with him Chelsea will recover. I would even say they are one of the favourites for the Champions League.

Also, an article on the official Australian Football Federation website read: Guus Hiddink has taken temporary charge at struggling EPL giant Chelsea after the club announced they’d sacked coach Jose Mourinho overnight following the club’s disastrous run in the English Premier League.”
