West Ham want Madrid's Martin Odegaard?

West Ham are keen to bring Norwegian teenager Martin Odegaard to east London from Real Madrid on loan, according to the Sun.

The powers that be at the Santiago Bernabeu want the 17-year-old to go out on a temporary deal in order to gain first-team experience. That has attracted the attention of plenty of clubs -- but the Hammers are the most prepared to make a move soon, the report says.

Although Liverpool are also interested, the Sun believes West Ham are "the most likely destination for Odegaard" after Manuel Lanzini was ruled out for up to five weeks with a knee problem.

It says the prospect of Odegaard moving to Anfield is less likely because "the Reds are unwilling to pay his £80,000-a-week deal, with Real keen to ship him out on a two-year deal without the option to buy at the end of it."
