Today we celebrate a true misical legend and icon  Brenda Fassie

     Brenda Fassie was born in Langa, Cape Town, as the youngest of nine children. She was named after the American singer Brenda Lee.[5] Her father died when she was two, and with the help of her mother, a pianist, she started earning money by singing for tourists.
In 1981, at the age of 16, she left Cape Town for Soweto, Johannesburg, to seek her fortune as a singer. Fassie first joined the vocal group Joy (filling in for one of the members who was on maternity leave) and later became the lead singer for a township music group called Brenda and the Big Dudes. She had a son, Bongani, in 1985 by a fellow Big Dudes musician.
       With very outspoken views and frequent visits to the poorer townships of Johannesburg, as well as songs about life in the townships, she enjoyed tremendous popularity. Known best for her songs "Weekend Special" and "Too Late for Mama", she was dubbed "The Madonna of the Townships" by Time magazine in 2001.

Death

On the morning of 26 April 2004, Fassie collapsed at her home in Buccleuch, Gauteng, and was admitted into a hospital in Sunninghill. The press were told that she had suffered cardiac arrest, but later reported that she had slipped into a coma brought on by an asthma attack.The post-mortem report revealed that she had taken an overdose of cocaine on the night of her collapse, and this was the cause of her coma. She stopped breathing and suffered brain damage from lack of oxygen. Fassie was visited in the hospital by Nelson Mandela, Winnie Mandela, and Thabo Mbeki.She died aged 39 on 9 May 2004 in hospital without returning to consciousness after her life support machines were turned off.

Amber Rose's likeness and name have been used to allegedly lure women into prostitution. According to TMZ, police are investigating a company that was soliciting models "for a paid celebrity photoshoot and clothing line." Up-and-coming models who saw the advertisement on Instagram and later contacted the business were reportedly told Amber was a key person in picking the models. Eventually, a purported FaceTime session between the model and Amber would be set up. When the prospective models called in, however, the company would reportedly use an old video from Amber's Ustream that would ultimately result in a bad connection. "If ur receiving emails or Text from amberrosemuva@gmail.com dat ain't me Bih," Amber tweeted over the weekend. "Apparently that email has been Facetiming my fans 2 with an old ustream I did then hanging up saying they had bad reception smh." She added, "Tricky f--ks....Very creative tho. I'll give them that.&
