The Xena: Warrior Princess Reboot Is Definitely Happening

According to Tvguide.com after months of rumors, NBC has confirmed that the Xena: Warrior Princess reboot is most definitely happening, Entertainment Weekly reports. Anticipation has been high since July, when former series star Lucy Lawless tweeted "news of a #Xena reboot is just a rumor. I'd love it to happen one day but it's still in the wishful thinking stage."

Well, wishful thinking has turned into reality, and the series has hired a writer-producer: Javier Grillo-Marxuach, who's worked on shows including Lost , NBC's Medium and Syfy's Helix . Lawless' husband Rob Tapert, an original co-creator of the action-adventure hit that ran from 1995-2001, is on board too, developing the new version along with director Sam Raimi , creator of the Evil Dead series.
No word on an air date, but we're already prepping our costumes and imagining story lines.
