The 2016 Brit Awards were held on 24 February 2016 and was the 36th edition of the British Phonographic Industry’s annual pop music awards. The awards ceremony was held at The O2 in London and were presented by Ant & Dec for the third time. The Nigerian Football Federation Technical committee had planned a meeting with coach Sunday Oliseh on Friday in Abuja, but the Delta state born tactician snubbed the meeting citing 'travel reasons' according to reports. The NFF technical committee had summoned Oliseh to a meeting today to explain his choice of players and planned tactics ahead of Nigeria's must win AFCON Qualifier next month, but the coach says he will be traveling to London this weekend on a scouting mission so can't meet the committee. This might cause more problems between the coach and the NFF after he reportedly told the technical body that he wasn't answerable to them and earlier criticized the NFF for not motivating the players enough by paying them their salaries and allowances. The NFF Technical committee is made up of respected football figures like Christian Chukwu, Paul Bassey, Victor Ikpeba, Mutiu Adepoju and Garba Lawal.

ISIS' hacking division has released a video challenging the founders of Facebook and Twitter, Mark Zuckerberg and Jack Dorsey for closing down accounts linked with the terrorist organisation, and promising to kill them if they continue. The Sons Caliphate Army, ISIS' hacking division titled the video released on Tuesday “Flames of the Supporters”, and in the video both C.E.O's face were riddled with bullets. Earlier this month, Twitter revealed that it had shut down 125,000 accounts while in the last six months Facebook has shut down over 10,000 accounts linked to the terrorist organisation, in their efforts to curb terrorism and spread of information from ISIS terrorists. At the end of the video, the video text says, "To Mark and Jack, founders of Twitter and Facebook, and to their Crusader government. "You announce daily that you suspended many of our accounts "And to you we say: Is that all you can do?" ''you are not in our league'...

Burna Boy has recently wrote to haters not to judge him because judgement should only come from those who sees the heart. Though one can't tell why he made such comment, or what went wrong, prompting him to say such, but one thing is certain, something unknown happened. The singer took to his page saying only his face can be seen not his heart, however, he is calling out to people who judge him without knowing his real motive or what he has at heart. He wrote: “ You can see my face but you can't see my heart. Judgement should only come from he that sees the heart of man.”

Nollywood actress, Kate Henshaw, who is ever ready to speak bluntly about any controversial issue, is out again and this time her axe of anger is falling on the Nigerian judiciary system. The actress is currently angry with the fact that a court could go as far as granting a rapist bail despite the fact that he committed the crime. She was speaking on the fact that an employee of Exxon Mobil, Ikenna Onuoha, allegedly raped a 14 year old girl on the 4th of January, 2016, and was charged to court only for the court to grant him bail with the sum of N2 million with two sureties in like sum. The actress used the opportunity to call on parents to teach their children how to speak while pointing that a rapist should not be granted bail to serve as punishment to others. In her opinion, she said, “Rapists should not be granted bail; this will act as a deterrent. Action should be expedited especially for rape cases so that victims do not wait long for justice and can begin the process...

The FIFA Appeal Committee today rejected the appeals of Sepp Blatter and Michel Platini to have their 8 year ban from football by the FIFA independent committee overturned. Instead they reduced their football ban from 8 years to 6 years and ordered both of them to pay CHF 50,000 and CHF 80,000 respectively within 30 days. In December last year, the adjudicatory chamber of the FIFA Independent Ethics Committee banned former FIFA president Sepp Blatter and former UEFA President Michel Platini for 8 years after they were both found to illegally conduct financial transactions without official records, hence both men's decision to take their appeal to the FIFA Appeal Committee.
